Lead QA Engineer (Automation-Focused)

Responsibilities:

• Define and implement a comprehensive test automation strategy across frontend, backend, and integration layers.
• Build and maintain scalable automated test frameworks, focusing on UI, API, and performance testing.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure a "quality-first" mindset and embed testing early in the development lifecycle (shift-left testing).
• Develop and execute automated test cases, ensuring test coverage for both functional and non-functional requirements.
• Establish CI/CD pipelines with robust automated test suites to enable rapid, reliable deployments.
• Identify, document, and track software defects, ensuring timely resolution.
• Design and implement performance and load testing strategies to ensure scalability and responsiveness.
• Mentor and lead a team of QA engineers, fostering continuous improvement in testing practices and automation coverage.
• Drive the adoption of QA best practices, tools, and technologies to enhance overall software quality.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to ensure alignment on quality goals and deliverables.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in QA roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior role.
• Strong expertise in test automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar.
• Experience with API testing tools like Postman, RestAssured, or similar.
• Proficiency in performance testing tools like JMeter, Gatling, or k6.
• Familiarity with continuous integration tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and their integration with automated testing pipelines.
• Knowledge of scripting/programming languages like JavaScript, Python, or Go for creating custom test scripts.
• Strong understanding of version control systems, such as Git.
• Experience with cloud-based test environments (e.g., AWS).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating quality risks.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with engineering and product teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with end-to-end testing in React applications.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and testing messaging systems like Kafka.
• Knowledge of testing accessibility standards and tools (e.g., Axe).
• Experience in the iGaming or Social Casino industries or other high-availability, high-scale platforms.
• ISTQB Certification or similar.
